John Q Hammons Convention Center Rogers, Arkansas | Program Description This seminar has been designed to meet the needs of practicing nurse anesthetists. It will provide up to date information concerning the pharmacology of inhalant agents, cardiovascular drugs, anaphylaxis, and the pharmacological considerations for providing austere anesthesia. Management of patients for ambulatory anesthesia and those requiring anesthesia outside of the OR will be discussed along with a presentation of current research concerned with chronic pain, opioids, and neuroimmune activation. The Sunday AM Session will concentrate on Upper extremity blocks and the role of ultrasound as an adjunct to anatomical structure identification and regional block placement. In addition current thinking concerning the problem of the impaired health care professional will be discussed and debated.
