Course Description This seminar has been designed to meet the needs of practicing nurse anesthetists. It will provide core didactic lectures focusing on current concepts and evidence-based thinking in anesthesia practice. This will include discussions of current thinking on management of the patient with renal disease or compromise, treating intraoperative cardio-vascular emergencies, acute pain management, recognizing and managing allergic/anaphylactic reactions occuring under anesthesia, Pre-Op evaluation concerns, providing cost-effective anesthesia, and an update on infectious diseases and malignant hyperthermia. The program continues with discussions of the management of epidural catheter complications, pulmonary aspiration, recognizing and correcting anesthesia machine issues, dealing with the problem of cognitive dysfunction following surgery and anesthesia, vaginal birth after C/Section, providing analgesia for the laboring patient, and a special session on the role of the NBCRNA in the certification and re-certification of nurse anesthetists. Ample time is scheduled each day for discussions, questions and answers.

REFUND POLICY A full refund less $150.00 application processing fee may be obtained if notice of cancellation is received in writing or by Email (ipgeseminars@ipge.com) no later than February 3, 2011. After this date a $150.00 credit will be issued which may be applied to another IPGE program within one year of the date of cancellation. No refunds are made after the program begins. If IPGE cancels the program, a full refund will be provided unless cancellation is due to a natural or man-made disaster ( fire, flood, earthquake, weather, strike, acts of war or terrorism, or any other cause beyond IPGE's control). In this event a tuition-free voucher valid for a minimum of two years from date of issue is provided. In addition, an attempt will be made to reschedule the program within a reasonable time period.
